Noah’s Ark is a non-profit organization that provides care and treatment for animals, including exotics, wildlife and domestic live stock animals. Noah’s Ark provides habitats that have the animals’ best interests in mind and that mimic their natural environments. Noah’s Ark promotes humane, responsible, and informed animal treatment and ownership.

Nestled on 250 beautiful scenic acres, Noah’s Ark is approximately 30 minutes from the Atlanta Airport and 30 minutes south of Downtown Atlanta, located at 712 L G Griffin Road, Locust Grove, Georgia.

Jama Hedgecoth, Noah’s Ark’s founder, has taken in abused and orphaned animals and children her entire life. In 1978, she and her family moved to a farm in North Henry County, Georgia, and started Noah’s Ark. When the animal population grew too large for their home and land, the family and all the resident animals moved to our current location in Locust Grove, Georgia.

Noah’s Ark is one of the preferred destinations for confiscated and rescued animals through our partnerships with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), United States Department of the Interior (USDI), Georgia Department of Agriculture, and the United States Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Noah’s Ark is a non-profit organization that relies solely on the generous financial and volunteer support of the community through donations.

It costs approximately $167,000 per month to feed, treat, and care for the animals, which is funded entirely by donations. Supporters are asked to donate through annual, major, or planned gifts.

Noah’s Ark is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity organization with a unique Tax ID:58-1909303. Yes, donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Currently, Noah’s Ark does not actively take cats or dogs for placement due to lack of space and funding.

A “No Kill” center saves both healthy and treatable pets. Euthanasia is used only for untreatable animals.

Yes, but only due to the lack of funding for habitats and care. When we cannot accept an animal, Noah’s Ark works with a network placement system. We’ve placed hundreds of animals through referrals.

More than 150,000 people visit Noah’s Ark and participate in educational program each year.

We have restrooms located inside the Welcome Center and portable restroom facilities available in numerous locations on site including the playground area and Animal Habitat Area (handicap accessible). We have vending machines located inside our Welcome Center building with bottled water, sodas, juice for sale and snacks.

Noah’s Ark is Open to the Public

Tuesday – Saturday 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Habitat Admission – $5 per person, 2 years and younger are free

We accept cash or credit card, and donations are greatly appreciated.

Pets are not allowed.
