Caleb’s and Joshua’s Story – (Continued from home page)…for the unborn
child who would be called Caleb. As Manius built a relationship with Noah’s Ark
and its founder Jama Hedgecoth, a long-held desire to go to Haiti began to
reaffirm itself in her heart. In December, 2011 that desire became reality when
Jama and some of her family traveled with Bro. Vixamar to visit the orphans of
Haiti. While there, a newborn infant was dug out of an outside, in-ground toilet
and handed to Jama, who claimed him immediately and called him Caleb. The
story continues — in early February, Jama returned to Haiti to meet her 2nd
adopted son, Joshua. And while these beautiful baby boys will become part of
her family within the next few weeks, many, many others remain behind and
in need. Jama feels a call to return to Haiti on a monthly basis – carrying as
much relief for the infants and small children as she can on each trip. Much is
needed – sneakers/tennis shoes for 3–5 year olds; summer clothing (cotton
shorts & shirts), socks, underwear, and rainwear for children ages 2–10;
coloring books and crayons; mosquito netting for the cribs, formula (the cost
of which is very prohibitive in Haiti), etc. Any of these items (new or gently
used) may be brought or sent to Noah’s Ark for Jama to take to these boys
and girls in desperate need. All items donated are tax deductible. “Anyone
who has a desire to visit Haiti and see the children firsthand is welcome to
travel with me,” Jama invites. “So many of them need homes and we’re
working to help them be adopted.” Child sponsorships are also available –
