Children’s Home at Noah’s Ark

NACCH is a 501©3 organization: Tax ID: 58–2052136

PLEASE NOTE:  Thank you for your interest in providing items for Christmas and throughout the year for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Care Home. We are licensed to provide foster care for up to 24 children. However, we are getting very few state referrals at this time, as is true for all basic care residential care homes in Georgia. We are doing some respite care and private referrals. Some of the children are here very temporarily (maybe a night or a weekend), some may be more long term. Having said that, we can’t predict how many children we will be serving at any one time. We may have one child, two, four or a dozen. Our mission remains to help children in any and every capacity that we can. For these reasons — we will not provide specific, personal wish lists for children for Christmas, etc

Noah’s Ark Children Care Homes has served a culturally diverse group of children for long-term residential care. Noah’s Ark is located on 250-acres in rural Locust Grove, Georgia. It is licensed to provide short and long term residential care to 24 children. While some children may stay a night or a weekend, and some may stay for years, historically the average stay for a child is 18–24 months.

Children are referred to Noah’s Ark by the Department of Family and Children’s Services (DFCS) or by private referral. Children from DFCS remain in the custody of the state and Noah’s Ark works closely with each child’s caseworker.

Noah’s Ark is a home where children receive unconditional love, proper nutrition, clothing and a sense of family. Medical care and education are also important components of the care given to the children, and are provided by supportive and nurturing adults.

The philosophy at Noah’s Ark Children Care Homes is unique in that it is tied to Noah’s Ark Animal Rehabilitation Center, also located on the grounds. The goal is to bring children and animals together for the rehabilitation of both.

A child who has been abused or abandoned may not be able to relate to care givers, but can find healing in caring for and inter-acting with animals. The animals, in turn, receive the love and attention they need to thrive.

Noah’s Ark Children Care Homes, Inc. is a 501©(3) non-profit organization and is supported through donations and per diem state funds.
