Meet Maggie Mae — the two legged goat…

By

Maggie Mae was born to a momma goat who gave birth to four babies. One was still born , and apparently, the womb was over crowded and Maggie May did not get proper circulation to her back legs. Shortly after her birth, her back legs — and the tips of her ears — came off, cue to dry gangrene. The owners expected her to die — but not only did she have a will to live, she began to walk on her front legs!  At first she walked with her body tipped way up in the air. But she eventually “leveled” out and walks with her body horizontal, like any goat. She walks awhile, then lies down on the grown to graze. The owners realized that this little girl would not do well trying to maneuver in their large pasture, so decided to allow her to come to Noah’s Ark. She and her brother came together and have adjusted quite well. The children love her, and she is an inspiration to everyone who sees her.

A mama goat on our property just gave birth to a two legged male.  He has back legs, no front legs.  He seems healthy and strong otherwise.  I don’t know if or how I should care for him.  Suggestions welcome.
