      <image:title>Bengal Tiger</image:title>
<image:caption>Gabby came to Noah’s Ark in 2011 at 12 months, after she was too large and aggressive to be used at a photo prop business. As just a cub, Gabby was the most aggressive tiger our staff had ever dealt with, due to physical abuse during her time in the cub petting business.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Bengal Tiger</image:title>
<image:caption>Over the years, Gabby has become more relaxed and less aggressive, and today she is an entirely different cat. She is a star pupil with positive reinforcement training, and even chuffs at her keepers when they approach</image:caption>

      <image:title>Bengal Tiger</image:title>
<image:caption>Golden came to Noah’s Ark in 2011. His owner and trainer asked us to take him because, at only two months old, he was the most rambunctious and aggressive tiger she’d ever had. Golden became a part of the family, where he was indeed a handful to finish bottle raising.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Bengal Tiger</image:title>
<image:caption>When given proper space and enrichment, Golden grew into a playful and relaxed tiger and is now a favorite of many visitors, as he is always out and about exploring his habitat.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Brown Bear</image:title>
<image:caption>Like all wild animals used primarily for public encounters or “cub petting”, her former owners took her from her mother shortly after birth in an attempt to make her less aggressive and more “people-friendly.” This separation during such a crucial point in her development has made her very attached to humans, but she is displaying more and more natural bear behaviors as she ages.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Brown Bear</image:title>
<image:caption>She is a very energetic bear and enjoys playing in water and ripping up trees and logs. Anna Lou also uses her large paws as “dinner plates – she will pick small pieces of food up with her mouth and set them on the top of her front paws, then continue eating.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Food is a huge motivator for black bears, and that is exactly how a church congregation lured Little Anne out of a tree. They assumed she was separated from her mother by a series of devastating storms and attempted to make Little Anne their church mascot until she was confiscated by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and brought to Noah’s Ark weeks later. “Little” Anne is still fairly little. But do not let her small size fool you. This bear is one of the smartest, feistiest animals at the Sanctuary.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Liberty came to Noah’s Ark in 2013 at nearly one year old. She was bred and born at a small, unaccredited zoo in the Midwest that survived by breeding and selling their exotics animals, as well as offering them to the public for pictures at local malls and fairs. When she was too playful and dangerous to be used in photo shoots, Liberty’s owner still could not sell her, so she was surrendered to Noah’s Ark.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Bobcat</image:title>
<image:caption>Baby Bob came to Noah’s Ark in 2014 at 8 months old from his human lifesaver. A woman rescued what she thought was a day old domestic kitten that was abandoned in the scorching sun. Being an experienced wild animal rehabilitator, she was able to bottle raised the young cat and nursed him back to health, whereupon she soon realized he was a bobcat. She continued to raise Baby Bob and when the time came, drove him to Noah’s Ark. Although bobcats are native to Georgia, he cannot be released in to the wild because he has lost his fear of humans.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The sanctuary's resident baboon, Alvin, was born in 2007 at a research facility in the Northeast. He came from a university that conducted behavioral research and when his project was complete in 2012, he was transported to Noah’s Ark for retirement.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Hamadryas Baboon</image:title>
<image:caption>Alvin is currently housed alone as he has proven not to do well when housed with other primates. Because of this, caregivers work extra hard to provide Alvin with a life full of enrichment. He is a master at puzzle feeders and foraging devices and in the rare event he cannot figure them out, he simply uses his massive fangs to destroy the toy and receive his treat.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Rooster was born at the sanctuary in 2010, after his mother arrived pregnant. Perhaps due to her young age, inexperience, or stress, she abandoned her baby within days of his birth. Staff were forced to step in and care for the tiny baby, feeding him from an eye dropper every hour, which led him to bond strongly with his keepers. As rooster grew in size and curiosity, it was clear that he was ready to be introduced to the other lemurs. Today he loves the active life he shares with his friends, as well as his daily visits with his keepers.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Cherokee was born at Noah’s Ark in 2000. Before being retired from a research facility, Cherokee parents took part in a birth control study at a large research facility. We were told that both parents were sterile, so imagine our surprise when one morning, keepers saw baby Cherokee clinging to her mother. After an initial health check and resulting vaccinations, Cherokee was allowed to be raised by her mother, a right that many captive primates are denied.</image:caption>

      <image:title>White Handed Gibbon</image:title>
<image:caption>Because of proper primate socialization, Cherokee is considered the most “normal” primate at Noah’s Ark as she does not display any of the neurotic behaviors that most primates do when being removed from their mothers as infants, such as digit sucking, fence biting, over grooming and tail grasping. Her parents have since passed away and she lives in a specialized habitat to suit her arboreal lifestyle. Her favorite foods are carrots and celery, and she loves napping in her hammock and swinging vivaciously on her ropes that travel throughout her habitat.</image:caption>

<image:caption>In the wild, Cavies eat mainly grasses, leaves and fruits. We try to keep Cooper's diet at the sanctuary very similar. His diet is supplemented with special rodent pellets. His favorite treat is sweet potato although fresh, edible branches are a close second.</image:caption>

      <image:title>African Crested Porcupine</image:title>
<image:caption>Lawrence is shyer and more easily startled than Quilber, and also exhibits more abnormal behavior than his enclosure friend. This is likely due to past neglect, mistreatment, or stress of being in an inappropriate captive environment. Although Quilber arrived in the same inappropriate caging conditions as Lawrence, he was not as affected by his previous mistreatment and has a more outgoing, almost “goofy” personality.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Quilber and Lawrence love to nibble on fresh branches and rearrange their burrows on a nightly basis. Their favorite treat is sweet potatoes. They also enjoy chewing on antlers and beef bones to keep their constantly growing teeth healthy and trimmed down. Both Quillber and Lawrence are fairly easy-going, non-aggressive porcupines as long as their keepers move slowly and deliberately and take care not to startle them.</image:caption>
